More from Slate Digital

Dear FG-X and VCC Slate Customer,

I've got some good news to share with you all.  Fabrice is here in Los Angeles and we have locked ourselves in the lab to finalize the new FG-LEVEL algorithm for the FG-X2.  This algorithm is in its final stages (we've been working on it for years, slowly improving the algorithm with new ideas), and I think you'll be really happy with the outcome.  The FG-LEVEL module is the biggest obstacle in the update, so finalizing it will be a major step forward.
In other good news, we've fixed some big bugs in the framework that the VCC 2.0 module will be working with, and now you'll see a massive CPU reduction with VCC2.0, and it'll also be more convenient and simple to use.  I've got all the old sessions that we recorded through the initial consoles (we recorded at various gain stages) and we're redoing the oversampling so that it is automatically matching the precise tone of the modeled desks.  Therefore, you won't have to constantly mess with oversampling settings.. it'll be done for you.
So, we are making progress.  Having Fabrice and I on the same side of the pond makes both of us more productive as well.
I'm way behind in the emails... very sorry about this. But I'll try to catch up soon.  Thanks for your continued support and patience.
Steven Slate

It seems Slate stuff is the pick of the day, in vogue, or most popular...or whatever...these days.  Either good promotion, product, customer service, or all or some of the above.  Having a "relationship" with Blackbird Studios and rubbing shoulders with Pensado, seems to help gain exposure too.
At this point in technology, plug in choices nowadays...at least TO ME, seem to be a preference, brand loyalty or bargin....whatever.  IOW, it's pretty hard to make an incorrect choice and really is all up to the user, in the end.
He seems really dedicated to his products though.  That's good.

I completely agree mixmkr....it's mostly the person using the plugin...

A good Engineer can take a free plugin and make it sound better then
ones we pay hundreds, if not thousands, for.

Not me..I can't make any of them sound good...so I keep looking for the
"Magic" plugin that makes me a better mixer...LOL

If you find that magic plugin please let me know.  I keep pressing the "easy" button, but so far it seems busted.

@Eddie, thanks for the link - interesting article.

FYI, PluginDiscounts is offering $15 cash back for the Slate modules ATM which are at half price.  I am unsure how that translates - i.e. cash back to PP or credit to PD but I got the VBC which is the only one I didn't have.

BTW, I hadn't been keeping up and watched this VIDEO about his virtual microphone system.

If you already have FG-X, and want forego the "cash back" thing
AudioDeluxe has a package deal for VTM and VCC
    for $159 in cart price....that's $10 cheaper....
