More junk...
Wife was away last night and I couldn't sleep. Lots of beer and 12 hours recording didn't help put me to sleep, so between the hours of 3 and 5 I ended up putting that short thing together - nothing to do with the stuff we're working on and the cliché "video" was put together only to occupy the visual space... The stuff is all EXS-24 (Logic sampler) and Logic stock samples, minus the voices. No HD version, unfortunately, so the sound isn't all that good. Viewers' discretion I guess... https://www.youtube.com/w...sN14I&noredirect=1

You might want to add a 'disturbing images' warning there Rain. Edit - I see you did. Viewers' discretion I guess...

Rain, I'm somewhat of a fan of the ESX-24 sampler ( I have it myself ) yeah , the music end of things had some cool stuff going on ….I sure like some of the grit you added in places ……. regarding the visual , I think I can perfectly understand why you can't sleep ... the poor old counting sheep can't make the jump over the wall with all them dead bodies after seeing that , now I can't sleep Yo James , nice shot of our Les Kenny

Sounds like a good start to me (very NIN-ish). Of course, I'm eating breakfast so I chose to not watch the visuals - lol. I can definitely hear a wall of over-processed guitars come in in my head.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Yeah, it is very NIN-ish - more like a study or an exercice in the genre rather than anything I intend to pursue. I like to do shorts like that, little sketches in the style of, that's all part of the learning process. Cute kittens would have been my first option but it just didn't seem to work with the music. ;) Though I'm thinking that, compared to the incredibly violent stuff that people are exposed to watching TV and movies, that's nothing.

It's kind of sick for my taste. I never saw death and decay to be things of whimsy. What's it all about?

I don't know. The dark side of human nature, what people will do to each other and to themselves, sickening things indeed. It's weird to see how refined and varied those things can be, how far away people will stray from just being good... Why do people keep making tons of movies about WWII, or movies about serial killers and all that stuff? To experience that through proxy, to try and understand our emotions in the face of such events and behaviours. To feel and strengthen that sacred barrier that keeps us on the right side, our empathy. But honestly, I didn't think that out or tried to make a statement. The images were added only to fill in visually - but maybe I do tend to forget that they can affect people in a different way than they affect me. Most of those pics do affect me very profoundly, and they actually hurt, but it's not something I try to avoid, because it all makes me want to find ways to always be better as a person.

Creativity has many forms. I'm happy you can express yourself and be able to explain it to guys like me that aren't so artistic. Keep on rockin'.

Thanks, John - actually, thanks also because I do appreciate that reality check. Living in seclusion with virtually no contact with the real world, and all things being so abstract, I tend to omit to put things in a more general context. Ultimately, I guess that music and all that artsy stuff is all about trying to connect w/ others and experience their humanity, see how they see things, how they understand and feel, and the reality check is part of that experience.
