More than 2 channel with USB?

I am not certain from reading various product descriptions --- is there a usb interface / software combo that actually enables multichannel (correspnding to the number of interface inputs) recording in the DAW of choice?

The Zoom Units (R24, R16, R8) record 8 inputs simultaneously...and can go up
    to 16 by interlinking..

As do many of the Presonsonus, Focustrite, Tascam, and other USB interfaces...

Also, the Mackie VLZ series USB mixers are 4 x 2....four in/2 out...(2404 and 3204 VLZ)

The Track 16, from MOTU offers 8 simultaneous in's....

There are many...so the answer to your question is YES.

I'm running 2 Studio Captures. 32 ins and 20 outs. USB straight into the studio computer and having to use a USB hub on the laptop for mobile. Works like a champ!

Thanks - ok so with these you end up being able to set up that corresponding number of inputs/channels in your DAW with complete separation?...

Yes, they are completely independent channels. Of course, there's always the possibility of crosstalk within the interface's analog section, although that's a problem I've only seen in the cheapest integrated interfaces.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
