Motorized Faders

I'd like to program two of my faders - one goes down in volume while the other goes up.

Is there any way to do this with X!?

Hey, Joe.  Not sure I understand:

You can automate one track in Sonar to go up and then automate the other to go down, but I think you are asking something else: like having a second fader react to whatever you do to the first fader.  If so, I don't know the answer.
You mention motorized faders.  What control surface are you using?  I use the V-Studio 700 and it automatically reacts to whatever automation I do in the DAW.

in your subject line you mention "motorized faders" so are you talking about automation of the faders INSIDE your X1 project or are you talking about physical hardware with motorized faders?  if you're talking about physical hardware, you need to use ACT for that or a control surface function, but that depends on your hardware which you haven't told us anything about.

automation or volume envelopes will do what you want INSIDE X1.

but we need more details on what you're wanting to do.

    Thanks for the quick responses.

I want to do everything inside x1.  I don't have a control surface other than my mouse & keyboard.

Konradh - yes, I'd like the second fader to react to the first.

Guess I need to look into automation & if I can't get the 2nd fader to react to the 1st, hopefully I can just program one to increase in volume and program the second to decrease.

automation will do what you want.  click on the "W" icon on the track properties and hit play on the transport.  move the fader of that track where you want it to change.  when finished, click on the "W" again to turn off automation writing.  you can also edit the envelope(s) that it writes on the track view.

check out the help files for more detailed information on AUTOMATION
