Mouse Wheel Zoom Options In an Odd Location

Would "Preferences" be a better location for "Mouse Wheel Zoom options?" Took me about 5 minutes to find it, but that's only because I knew from the last time that it wasn't in preferences. I wanted to turn off "Simultaneous Horizontal and Vertical Zoom."

Actually that was not what I wanted to set it at. :/

My goal was to be able to hold "ALT+Scroll Wheel" to horizontally zoom in or out wherever my cursor is. Similar to zooming centered on the now time with "CTRL+LEFT/RIGHT ARROW."

If you only turn off "Simultaneous Horizontal and Vertical Zoom" Sonar zooms only vertically. Not sure why I would want that.

I got what I wanted by changing the vertical zoom scale to a factor of 1.000 and leaving "Simultaneous Horizontal and Vertical Zoom" checked. Even though, visually, that is not what happens. The end result is horizontal scroll only. Which I am please with. Just kind of a weird way to get to that point.

Awesome to see you got it working that way, but where exactly is mouse wheel zoom option dialog? I didn't even realize horizontal zooming was possible with the mouse wheel in Sonar...I've just been using quick zoom key commands and the click/drag-down method from the timeline.

When you uncheck "Simultaneous Horizontal and Vertical Zoom" you can zoom horizontaly by holding down ALt+Control.

I use that al the time.

I figured that out as well, but I don't want to hold down more than one modifier key because I use this so often.

Thanks! Never would've thought to look there...so yeah, it definitely seems like it'd be more at home living next to the keyboard shortcuts etc. in the Preferences menu.

Yeah. A lot of those "options" seem conspicuously similar to what might be considered "preferences."

I don't hold down any keys. I just use the horizontal mouse wheel.

That might draw more power than my local grid can safely provide.

Does this work? My mouse has this feature but I never got that to work. I will try this again with platinum...

Yes, it's been working like a charm ever since I bought it (a year or so ago). Each button/control on that mouse is keybindable, so I assigned Ctrl+Left Arrow and Ctrl+Right Arrow to the horizontal wheel. I can never go back to a mouse that has no horizontal wheel!!!

That is pretty cool.     Plus, it looks like a Transformers mouse.
