    Hi Shawn,

This isn't bad for what it is. Definitely gives that Egyptian vibe. I could hear this in a documentary or in a movie. Or just some background music.

The only thing I noticed was ... you have a nice wide stereo field on everything, but the drums seem to be in mono or have a very narrow stereo field compared to the rest of the mix? Maybe a touch of chorus?

I like it. Can't say much about the technical mix aspects because of the listening environment, but it's a cool piece musically. I kind of liked the mono-ish drums with the wider stuff. It provides a nice sort of feel to me.

Tweaked the mix, added a bassline, it's coming along. Thank you two for the comments, soundtrack is my genre. -Shawn

This is sweet! The egyptian vibe is definitely there. I think this sounds more like video game music than a movie, though - maybe what you would hear at the main menu of a war videogame kind of thing. Awesome job.

The drums sound monoish, but eh...who cares. This might have benefited from a light, but deep hip hop kick drum sample to add that "robustness" to the drums that usually accompany a stereo recording. Maybe include the singer from the beginning more often to break it up a little more?

"Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!" - Psalm 98:1

This is quite pleasant, listening to version with bass line, reminds me of Peter Gabriel from the Passion album.  Some vocal or more engaging lead would help even as suggested you used some of the chanting from earlier.   An under pin bass percussion might help as well.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Shawn,
I find this very interesting and we both seem to be on the same kind of track. You may find some of my stuff very interesting and to your liking. I try to do various epic sounds for video and movies. Click on the jrkcompendium link below and go to the music page where I have a few pieces completed. Maybe there is something we can work on together sometime. I enjoy this sort of thing and finding your music reminded me of me and the work I am trying to create.
Hope you find it to your liking. Enjoyed your production and went to your website and listed to others, so I had to write you here and say thanks for sharing.

    Blessings, John

Nice job shawn, I dugged it.  I think the mono ish drums work for this piece.  The mix also sounded good to me.

liked this, had my head moving as it went on, a really good build up. I would agree defo a great track for a film soundtrack or a war game.

I didnt mind to much for the mono type drum, in fact, I would say it fitted nice a snuggly against the stereo imaged instrumentation.

    John,

Your stuff is really interesting, I enjoyed Apacalypse, Halls of Judgement and Nexus, nice stuff, thank you for the compliments. I try to post works in progress here, been slacking lately so perhaps if you catch one in the future we can collaborate, it might be fun you have a different style than me but are going in the same direction.

    Thank You all again,

    Shawn
