Moving Notes Vertically Only in Piano Roll

How do I move notes in the Piano Roll only vertically?

The smart tool don't seem to do it, neither do the other tools in the tool box.

    Try holding the shift key while moving notes.

    Now for the trickier question, how do I use the force to lift my space ship out of this muddy hole I seem to have gotten it stuck in on some strange planet while escaping from the Imperial force.
