Moving XLN's documents files
I've installed my XLN stuff on my work laptop as an experiment. I like to keep my documents folder tidy, as I often have to navigate it quickly, before my class of grade ones riot. Although you can set paths for the VST's and program files, the documents folders get stuffed full of mess. I tried creating a sub folder, but opening AD2, just rebuilt the folder in the documents folder. Any suggestions for getting around this

I don't remember if the XLN installer asks you the "everyone or just you" question. Native Instruments Komplete installs all of its user directories in the Public Documents folder (everyone), as do several others. If there's a way to tell the XLN installer to install for everyone, maybe those 5 folders will install to the Public Documents folder, so you won't see them. The path: C:\Users\Public\Documents instead of to the individual user account (in my case: Primary) C:\Users\Primary\Documents

I don't remember that question coming up during the install. So there maybe a way of clearing. After posting I wondered about hiding too. Not something I've done before. It actually 12 XLN folders, 5 would would just be the addictive stuff,

I actually opened up a ticket with XLN on this very thing a few months ago. I have AD installed on my work Surface as well, and we redirect "My Documents" via Group Policy to a network location. As such, no XLN product will open unless I have connectivity to our corporate network. XLN told me there was no way to place XLN products on any other place than "My Documents"

Thanks, I won't peruse that route then. I've never used hidden files, but that seems to achieve my goal here. It also works for the Bandlab and Cakewalk folders, and when I've added AAS, Fabfilter etc to this machine, I'm going to face the same hurdle, so 'hidden' gets around that problem. I've been secretly working on some Indian recipes for a girl, so I can also hide my 'Make her Curry' folder too.
