Muadio expression pedal weirdness

Just throwing this out there incase anyone uses these and has any ideas.

I purchased a EX-P expression pedal to use with my Axiom 61 controller.  It is 'supposed' to be compatible.  I adjust the knob on the pedal to its lowest setting and I have a perimeter of 0-27 ..when I adjust it to its highest setting I have an even smaller range of 69-73.

The Axiom 61 reads correctly as my Data 2 is set to -0- and my Data3 is set correctly to -127-.  Anyone have an idea if there is another perimeter setting somewhere that I am missing?

I have toggled the polarity switch on the bottom to no avail.  I also posted to MAudio support and separately to their forums but have gotten no response which is why I ask wildly here :)
