Multi outputs out of the blue?

There's probably an obvious answer to this - so here goes:

I insert a new audio track and apply a Cakewalk TTS-1 to a track via FX bin.

I add a new MIDI track and point the output to Cakewalk TTS-1 5. Any MIDI input will now trigger this soft synth.

Under that MIDI track I also have output options for TTS-1 1, TTS-1 2, TTS-1 3 and TTS-1 4. If I assign output to any of these no sound will be made, which makes sense because I haven't set up this soft synths anywhere in this project. TTS-1 5 is the only one that works.

So my questions are:

Why do I have TTS-1 1, TTS-1 2, TTS-1 3 and TTS-1 4 in my MIDI output at all?
And if this is normal behaviour, why is TTS-1 5 the only one that works, rather than TTS-1 1?
Did I miss something?

Thanks!!

Alex

Ok the moral of the story is to take a look at the Synth rack (doh!).

Some synths behave like Fx plugs when you insert them into the Fx bin.

    Other synths don't

If you're just using the synth as intended, use either "Insert Soft Synth" from the track view, or insert it into the synth rack
