Multi-dock automatically closes when opening X1

I don't think this is related to Sonar because when opening other windows (win 7 64 bit) it minimizes them immediately but in X1 I see the multidock displayed for like a half second on my 2nd monitor and then it collapses to the bottom of my main display.
I've googled the issue and everything points to AVG anti-virus but I have MS security essentials...any thoughts?

BTW, I don't think this has anything to do with anti-virus because even when I turn it off it still does it (window opens and then minimizes)

Another thing: sometimes after I expand the multidock it doesn't even have the undock button available..if I close x1 and reopen it's there.
