Multiple Meter changes

I'm using GT Pro 4, and I am trying to record a song with multiple time signatures.  I can add the meter change to the desired measure , lets say a change from 4/4 to 3/4 at measure 32.  The metronome however does not apply the change at measure 32, even though everything indicates it should?  Has anyone else encountered a problem like this?  If so is there a way to fix this (I would like to be able to record a track straight through and not have to stop at the meter change to make sure it gets lined up)?
