Multiple Midi tracks

Does anyone know if you can record more than two MIDI tracks? i tried the other night and when i tried to change the Bank/patch to get a different sound...i could only get the one that i used on a previous track...Will it need different outports or something?

Change the Channel [CH] for each track. Once a patch is assigned to a channel - that patch will play on all other tracks that are using the same channel.

Later if you want to change the instrument [patch] on a channel you will insert a
    bank/patch change.

Here's a link to Desktop Music Handbook http://www.cakewalk.com/Tips/Desktop.asp

It has good basic information about MIDI and Audio.
