Multiple Pedal Events

Using a sustain pedal with a Yamaha keyboard (Tyros 2).  Everytime I press or release the pedal, it inserts three events into the track.

Press and release the pedal one time = three control 64 events with a value of 0 and three control 64 events with a value of 127.

Ideas how to stop this from junking up the track?

    Make sure you're not routing the MIDI signal back to the keyboard.

    The switch in the pedal is going bad, and bouncing. That, or it's become loose. Open it up and make sure the switch is firmly mounted and is getting fully depressed by the pedal. Try substituting it with another pedal; if you don't have another that you can borrow, any momentary-close footswitch will suffice for testing.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Thanks, guys.  I will check the MIDI routing and I have a second pedal identical to the first but barely used that I can try.
