Multiple monitors....think I might just have to get one of these....

I already have two 27" monitors...but have contemplated getting a 3rd (42" TV).  This would be awesome for working with Sonar and video editing in Sony Vegas Pro

I know this video card is mainly for gaming.....but.....this is copied from the specs on NewEgg.  Says it can support up to FOUR displays...!

NVIDIA Surround with up to Four Monitors
Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages your peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email, or web while you are gaming.

Sony Vegas Pro and CW Sonar are what I use. Although from different companies, together they make a helluva one-two punch for media production.

Now if only I can convince CW to follow Sony's lead in using .NET as a new scripting language instead of the old CAL...

I've got one of these. http://www.asus.com/au/Gr...rds/GT6402GD3/#gallery

It too can have 4 monitors connected. While it does have a fan it runs very quiet just running Sonar I have 2 x 24" ASUS monitors connected but I also want a 42" HDTV connected.

make sure you check the specs closely. i didn't read the description very thoroughly but i noticed that all 4 ports are different. dvi-i and dvi-d and display port and hdmi so you would likely need a few adapters? idk

more importantly make sure your power supply really is up to it. the corsair 750 watt is probably enough but i see you also have 3 drives.

    hope this is helpful...

    +1 to checking it.

I just looked up the card you have now and the EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti looks identical on the end to the GTX 760. The HDMI will not support your TV?

If you are adding a TV, the HDMI should work there. The two monitors can take the DVI connections. I cannot find if the GTX 560 Ti will support all outputs though.

Edit: Also check that price. The benchmark site I always go to says the GTX 760 is $237 (is #10 on the list)

Funny I found the answer in another forum:
"Nope. Single cards in the nvidia 500 series can only do up to 2 monitors. If you use sli or more than one card you up that number.
Sorry...but if you get a 600 series (670/680) you can get 4 with a single card.
AMD/ATI cards in the 6000/7000 series support multi monitors from 3-6 in their series if it's really needed."

    Learning experience for me!

That's why I got the 640 card because it can accommodate a monitor on each of the 4 output connectors despite their differences. With 2 gig of Ram it's plenty for use with sonar. I'm not a gamer however I do some graphics work but it's all 2D stuff.
