Muse Cover

This is a cover of Blackout by Muse, recorded as a gift for my girl friend. This is our song, so I thought it would be cool to record every piece myself (You can really tell by the god awful drumming!) I cannot sing, so I enlisted my good friend to take care of the vocals. This was done from start to finish with the equipment in my sig. http://soundcloud.com/ambient122/blackout

Nicely done and produced. Nicely sung. Not necessarily my type of music. I listen to Radiohead and usually skip their slow songs. Comparing with the original, without the string arrangement you are loosing ambience and fullness. Maybe add some chorus effect on the guitar?

great Muse cover. I bet the singer would also be prefect on Radiohead covers- has a real Thom Yorke vibe.

Thanks guys. The main guitar part does sound a little dry, so I will give a chorus effect a shot. As for the Thom Yorke comment, that is what I have been saying! He refuses to cover a Radio Head song. Blasphemy...

The Thom Yorke comparisons are inevitable.  I'd love to hear him sing "Karma Chameleon".  Otherwise, this song rocks.  The mix is clean and clear, with every element in its own space.  I don't necessarily agree that you need to jazz this up anymore.  I thinks its stands by itself as is.  Good job.

    All the best,

Tried using some chorus, but it lost it's clarity and definition. Everything is already torn down, but it might be worth it to try dubbing the guitar part to make it sound fatter.

Sounded great to me.  Not one of my favorite Muse songs actually, but well played.
