Music Creator 2003 Issue

When I am recording vocals I hear a ticking sound. I don't understand why it is in the program. Is there a way to turn that off?

    Welcome to the forum.
    Has it been doing that since 2002 when it was first released, or did it start recently?
    It only happens while recording vocals?
    What's your operating system? What sound card or audio interface are you using? How much memory does the computer have and how fast is the processor?
    What is the sampling rate and bit depth of the sound card or audio interface? What sampling rate and bit depth is MC 2003 using?
    Are you using a USB microphone?
    Is the metronome on?

    I'm thinking the metronome is on.  Shut it off.

    It's there to help you keep a steady beat.
