Music Creator 5 -- MP3 Encoder?!

So I want to be able to convert my audio files that I record on Music Creator 5 to MP3 files.  Since this version of Music Creator apparently doesn't come already equipped with an MP3 encoder, I purchased the file via Cakewalk's online store.
 
Problem is, now that the encoder is installed, I have NO idea what to do next.  I tried after downloading the encoder to export an audio file to an MP3 file, and I got the same message from Cakewalk as I did BEFORE I downloaded the file:  "The MP3 encoder must be unlocked before use.  Please visit http://www.cakewalk.com/ to upgrade a previous encoder, or to purchase a new encoder."
 
So you all can understand my frustration here, because I JUST payed $30.00 for an MP3 encoder, FROM the cakewalk store!  What the heck is going on??  Help!

    I hate to tell you this susie, but you bought the wrong one.  the $30 encoder is not for MC5, if you scroll down to the bottom of that page, it specifically states that the one at the bottom is for MC3-5 and it's not a download of the encoder itself, it's just an activation.  all you have to do is activate the one already installed in MC5.

    you'll have to email or call cakewalk customer service to get this fixed since you only need the $19 activation instead of the $30 download.

    Or google db power amp and download that and it will take care of the problem

    yeah, I use the free mP3 converters and wave editor that I downloaded from the net.

    the reason I didn't mention the free ones at this point is because she had already spent $30 on a cakewalk encoder.  downloading a free one will work for conversion, but she's still out $30 unless she calls cake.

    yeah... I agree...call cake on Monday and tell them what happened and they will help you out.
