Music Creator 5 on Windows 7 -- My projects from MC4 are missing Delay and Reverb plugin.
I have searched this forum first and could not find my issue... How can I get my projects to automatically associate the Delay and Reverb plugin with a compatible one? I am told its because of it being a 64 bit version... Can anyone help? I was using MC4 on XP and now MC5 on W7 will not let me choose those basic plugins. Thanks

I don't remember specifically, but I'm thinking those plugins were DX and were not updated for 64bit. if they are 32bit DX plugins then you can't use them on 64bit windows at all. it's not possible.

You just have to add new plug ins back into the projects from the list, as MC5 and 4 have some different plugs. 64 bit makes it a bit harder since 32 bit uses 32 bit plug ins, and 64 should be able to use both, but some plug ins don't work.

That's the reason I decided to stay 32 bit..... the whole 32/64 bit compatibility issue. depending on the maker of the plugs and FX... you might be able to DL the new 64 bit versions (registered users) or buy a lower cost upgrade.... never hurts to investigate this issue.

I am pretty sure it's the old "cakewalk" brownish/yellow faced basic plugins which are 32bit DX which did not get updated. if the plugins are DX then they have to be 64bit or they won't work - there's no "wrapper" available for DX plugins.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the super quick replies! I think its best I stick with MC4, MC5 has some HUGE track drop down menus, thats too gaudy and MC4 was neater in that aspect... Off topic, could you answer one question if you know. If I am using a focusrite Saffirre LE, I have it as an input device and output, also under output I have my standard desktop speakers since I dont have any connected to the saffire, is there is a quick button I can switch between the two... I know that under the OUTPUT 2 option in MC4, I can select it quickly but thats only for 1 track... I dont use BUS's, I dont even really understand them so if there is any easy way could someone let me know? Thanks

you shouldn't use your onboard soundcard and the focurite at the same time. it will cause you many problems, one of which will be sync problems between tracks because you're monitoring with a playback device which has a different clock than the input device. either plug headphones into the saffire or plug your computer speakers into the saffire and use it only for when you're recording.

maria, you should start this in a new topic / new thread since it is a totally different subject. When you start the new post tell us about the computer, it's operating system, and anything else that matters ..........especially the sound card you are using.
