Music Creator 6 Timestretching. Need Help!

Hello@All

I'm new here and with the Software MC6.
I wanna know, how do I work accurately with the Timestretching Option.
What is the easiest Way? First of all,I tried the Timing Tool but the result was not correct.
I have a 16tel HiHat Loop (Original Tempo 70bpm) and wanna stretch this to Songtempo 90bpm. Can I shrink and stretch the Parts with the Mouse?

Thanks for Help
Warm Regards
Podi

    Podi... welcome

I have not used the time stretching function in any of the cake products I have ever owned very much. (not all products have time stretch)  mostly just to experiment to see if it worked well.... and it did not .... in my case.

You will get better results with it if the changes you want to make are small. For example in the demo they had in the old Cakewalk Pro 8, they had a radio commercial that was not exactly 30 seconds..... I forget if it was under or over that... but it was by a few seconds..... something like 28 or 33. They used timeshrink/stretch to zap the voice over to make it fit the commercial exactly.

Using it to shrink a voice over a few seconds is a totally different thing from using it to shrink or stretch music...and the bigger the change the worse it will sound.  IIRC it also had the ability to change pitch. I tried to get it to change the pitch on a song with out changing the tempo....and the result was tragic.

Quite often the best option is to start again on a new project and recording at the proper tempo (pitch) than to try to use software to alter it.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Hello Giutarhacker

    Thanks for answer!

So I'm sure,MC6 has this Funktion but for the Moment I don't understand it correctly tu use.
For instance,in Reaper you can grab the End of a Part and hold down the ALT Key and you can stretch or shrink...thats a very easy Way and Reaper will do this very well! I  stretched Drumloops from 120bpm to 80bpm and the Results are amazing.
I also read the User Guide from MC6 but I can't find the right procedure.

I think MC would do time stretch/shrink as a "process audio" event.

I haven't used it so I never go to look for it. Usually the MC line doesn't have the features in it that Sonar P does.
