Music Creator 6 Touch - how to use
I am new to this whole world of music making.
Are there any good resources that show one how to use the program from a beginner's level.
I am finding the help files very confusing.

Have you gone through the video tuts?

That would be the first stop I recommend. Youtube also has some CAKEWALK sponsored videos that are worth the time to view and work through.
MC6, while called "beginner's" software, is by far, a very capable program that will let you record some amazing stuff. As such, there is a learning curve. Be patient.
Watch the tutorials and then write down specific questions. Come to this forum to ask those questions. Try to limit a post to a specific topic and several questions related to it. Keep the topic in one thread. People here (users like you), including cake staff, will come in and take a shot at helping to answer those questions when you hit the brick wall. The main thing is to be patient. Even MC6, while simple, has a learning curve that takes time and effort to learn the finer points.
First question is..... do you have sound coming out of the speakers?
