Music Creator 6 crashing upon loading

Music Creator 6 crashing upon loading

So I saw a post about this with Sonar but there really didn't seem to be an answer there, so I thought I'd try it here.

Let me preface this by saying that I have booted up MC6 with no problems in the past.

I try to open it up, if it fully loads, I then get an error message about "Unhandled Exception" and it proceeds to crash. If it doesn't fully boot up (which it is currently doing), I get 
 
            "CWMC.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

My first fixing attempt was a basic reboot, then I tried a reinstall, and now I come here.

I'm running Windows XP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    did you get any errors during installation?

    what soundcard do you have?  soundcard drivers can cause problems sometimes.

    try holding the SHIFT key down as you double click on the Music Creator icon to load it.

    Also, you can try running it as the administrator for the first time. Instead of the normal double click, right click the icon and select Run as Administrator and see if that makes any difference.

    What version XP are you running? XP Service Pack 3 is required for Music Creator 6. Service Pack 3 is a free download from Microsoft.

    I had to do install SP3 to get Sonar to run. It was easy. I downloaded the package and installed and it was good to go.

    I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
