Music Creator 7 compatability with Boost-11 (SOLVED)

I have three copies of the Boost 11 VST installed on my computer.  These are from previous Cakewalk purchases.  These do not show up in my VST options when I try to insert an audio effect.  Is there something in MC7 that is blocking this, or do I just have my VST libraries messed up?

I have reset and rescanned my VSTs in preferences and it (Boost 11) is in more than one of the VST paths.  It does show up in my Sonar instances.

Has anyone else had any luck getting Boost-11 to work with MC7?

Thanks,
Glen

Boost 11 does not show up in 64 bit MC7 on Win7. I only have the 64bit version of Boost11 from the current version of SONAR installed. I wonder if it conflicts with the Max tool in the MC7 MixStrip.

I had the same problem and out of nowhere, it showed up!  Running Music Creator 7 in Windows 8.1 32 bit (signature shows my main studio specs)

Peace!

Hey Guys,

Here is an easy fix to get Boost 11 working in MC7. We are looking into this issue and will be trying to fix it in an update, but for now you can simply do the following.

  • Make sure MC7 is completely closed
  • Navigate to your VST Plug-ins folder. (Most likely Program Files/Cakewalk/Vstplugins) on a 64-bit machine
  • Open the folder
  • Locate the folder called "Boost11"
  • Rename this folder to: Original_BST11_x64
  • Open the "Original_BST11_x64" folder
  • Rename the Boost11_x64.dll to: Original_BST11_x64
  • You'll need to confirm permission to make these changes when asked by Windows
  • Press [Continue]
  • Launch MC7 and go to the plug-in browser and open the VST2 folder to find Boost11

Let me know if this solution doesn't work for any of you.

This does result in Boost11 showing up in the MC7 plug-in list. It has the side-effect of adding an entry to the SONAR plug-in list under "Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\Boost11"

I am guessing the same solution applies for those with the full version of the PX-64 Percussion Strip.

Originally I removed both Boost11 and PX-64 from "Shared Utilities\Internal" thinking they were installed there in error and reported on CWBRN-31973 and CWBRN-31974.

Thank you Lance. I had this problem with Boost 11 & PX-64 Percussion Strip & the TL-64 Tube Driver plugins. I had to rename all 3 of those to get them to show up. After following your instructions they show up fine now.

Thanks again.
