Music Creator Complete Sound Studio Bundle ($99)
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this product: Music Creator Complete Sound Studio Bundlehttp://www.store.cakewalk...ductid=10-MTSS6.00-30E Not so much interested in Music Creator, as I've had Sonar for a few months, but I'm highly interested in the 19 instrument packs (1,200+ instruments) to complete my SoundCenter instruments library. Does anyone know anything about this? Have you downloaded it and what do you think of it? Also, I'd like to know if the Music Creator component installs with it or if it can be deselected... Thanks in advance! :)

There's no reason to get this. It is a great starter DAW.

I'm not buying it for Music Creator 6, because I have Sonar. I probably should've clarified that purchasing for the 1,200 instruments. :)

I don't have that bundle, but the math on it is a no brainer if you want all of the Sound Center libraries. Usually, in a package like this, the various elements are separate downloads. Isolating MC6 should not be a problem, and you probably don't even need to download it. The add-ons I have don't carry serial numbers or registration codes, so I don't see any licensing issues popping up. If you purchased all 19 add-ons individually, it would be about $380. $99 for the bundle? Has your download started yet ?

Yesterday, I called Cakewalk and the representative told me the sale price of $99 should last until "the end of the week". I said, "So...until Saturday?" He replied quietly and unconvincingly, "...yeah." I checked again tonight and the special is apparently over -- but the product now costs $149. The retail price for this item BEFORE the special was $125! So in other words, they hiked up the price on this thing. I'm calling Cakewalk tomorrow to sternly voice my concern.

Well, it's still a killer deal, but yeah, it was $99 last night, and there was no warning.

Unless you own Music Creator 6 Touch or SONAR X3 on STEAM there's no way to download the additional downloadable content.

This is one of the potential options we're looking into now that we've implemented Single-Sign-On. One thing to keep in mind is that you'd be moving your upgrade path to STEAM for the future. It would likely be a one way transition.

Once again, the purchase of this item is for the instruments, not for Music Creator. I currently use and enjoy Sonar x3. I called Cakewalk with my concern. A representative told me the $99 price would last until the end of the week but expired yesterday. The person I just spoke to issued me a promo code for that price, good for 72 hours. I will be purchasing the Complete Sound Studio Bundle tomorrow.

That's correct. I was responding to LAWP's post in regards to buying the same pack on STEAM. In that case you need to own or buy SONAR or Music Creator on the STEAM platform itself to be able to download and utilize the sound packs.

After purchasing the Bundle last night (MC6 + 19 instrument packs), I will honestly say that my expectations and reactions are mixed. MC6 does come in separate components, but so do all 19 the Instrument packs...19 compressed folders. I should've guessed this would be a conveluded mess of sorts, all installing separately into my Control Panel Add/Remove list. Call me a control freak, but I guess this does trigger my OCD a bit. I did initially have to spend about fifteen minutes extracting all the install files and putting them together in one folder. The install didn't take long, but I do wish I could methodically just take my entire SoundCenter instruments folder and back it up just the way it is for next time. In addition, when browsing my SoundCenter library, this may be a tremendous amount of work merely choosing one instrument for a particular type of track. Previously, I had my core SoundCenter library, TTS, Roland GrooveSynth and DropZone. Now I have 10 times the library, but I shall learn to take it as a benefit, a convenience and a blessing...and not a burden. It will just take some getting used to. :)
