Music Creator LE problem

When I record with my USB samson go mic, my voice sounds like a chipmunk. Is it like a frequency problem or what?

Most likely the Samson and MC are set to different sample rate.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

You should really consider returning the USB mic and buying a USB music interface and a "real" mic like a dynamic or condenser to record with.

It will work so much better.  A USB mic is not a good choice for recording in Music Creator.

the GO mic probably came with MCLE.

and actually the GO mic is a little better than other USB mics (although I still agree that it's not the best equipment to use).  the GO mic has a headphone output so that you can connect headphone or speakers up to the mic itself, so you won't be using the computer soundcard for output.

more than likely what is happening here, but we don't know for certain until the OP returns with more info, is that he probably has mismatched sampling rates between the USB mic and the onboard soundcard trying to hear/monitor from the onboard souncard instead of from the mic.

you should plug headphones into the GO mic.  make sure that you have the GO mic selected as the RECORDING and PLAYBACK DEVICE in OPTIONS>AUDIO.  do NOT select the onboard soundcard for output or you will have problems.

and my honest opinion is that getting a USB soundcard and a non-usb mic + MC6 is the best way to go.  check my website for recommendations.

Yeah, buying a nice condenser mic this friday. Do you guys think I'll have the same problem with a non-usb mic? I keep trying different combos of sample rates and frequency, but nothings working. I don't want this problem if I buy a really expensive mic.

I think life will be good without the USB mic.... you need an interface (USB type) with phantom power for teh condenser mic....

And don't worry, the USB interface will not cause problems if you get a nice one.....

What kind are you contemplating buying?  (mic & interface)  maybe we can save you some grief if you give us that info.

did you try my suggestion about using only the GO mic and not the onboard soundcard?

The Go mic isn't listed for playback.

change to MME driver mode, run the wave profiler (tests on the system or whatever it says now) and then see if you can select it from the pull down menu for playback.
