Music Creator wont start
I recently moved my hard drive that has Music Creator 5 to another PC..When I try to start MC5 I get this After I click OK I get a dialogue open sound (not the windows error sound) and the main screen for MC5 shows for just a second (but I cant print screen to show the screenshot,I tried) then it closes. Any troubleshooting Ideas would be appreciated

I'm trying to figure out exactly what you did - did you take your hard drive which had MC on it and move it to another machine, or are you saying you installed MC on a new hard drive in a new machine?

yeah.... sometimes the hardware has conflicts when you do that and not all programs will run correctly. I would recommend that you use the original install disks and reinstall the program properly. I have used cloning programs on C drives....and while it went pretty good, I still had a few programs that refused to start properly and required me to reinstall form the original disks. Looks like that is your solution.... reinstall the program.

MC is accustomed to being on the C drive, so when it discovered it was now on the E or F or whatever drive, it went into apoplexia. Everything it needs to start is supposed to be on the C drive, but when it checks that drive, nothing is there.

I think these guys are right - you've tried moving the hard drive to another drive letter and the registry doesn't say that's where it is. you'll need to reinstall.

I thought you meant you put it in the new computer as the C drive..... that would cause problems.... but if you installed it as E, F, or whatever, yeah, there's nothing in the new computers registry to tell it where the startup files are located.... You need to reinstall it to create those registry listings.

Check your profile under My Registrations. MC 6 should be there; see if there is an active download link. Redownload and this time make a copy of the program.

greg's right - just log into your account and the download link should still be there. if not, you'll need to contact customer service (I think you can even call them for something like this - this is not "technical support" this is customer service).

I think the DL link shows in your account but they might need to re-authorize it for you. Either way... if it won't DL for you , call them.
