Music for my first Client!

My client has a Powder Coating Busniess and is in the process of building his first web site...He wanted me to creat the music for it....here were his requirements.....He wanted some wind noise and then a bang to open the splash screen....since he is a car nut I used a race car engine and a guitar bang....he wanted it Three times before you get to the music.....he wanted a twisted ending.......he got it.......

I used CM Zebra for the wind and 1 instance of Rapture for the tension......I used my line 6 for the guitar bang.....I used session drummer for the drums and split the drums to process seperatley.....then I layered two different guitar sounds...one heavy metal and one Jazz chorus for the overall gtr sound .... TTS for the organ and bass and then a second instance of rapture for the pumping sound.....I tried to use a telponone sound with delay for the announce voice (which you hear three times) and then went to a back disk of CM to get the girls voices.....the guy at the end is the person who recorded the original car engine........

the music is called "Mikes web site Music" at the link below
http://www.soundclick.com/cliffordamundsen
I hope you like it and yes you can laugh at it if you want.......but I am kinda of liking the background music and think I may just flesh it out into a real piece....
any way......hope you like
Cliff

Great job! He should be really happy with this! It flows really well... Hey, the ending made me laugh! What's CM Zebra? I was looking for a wind sound for my latest song. I'm guessing it's something else I have to BUY! lol Anyway, great music!

It has a good automotive drive to it.

A good choice for a Web piece because it lends itself to making short loops from it thus reducing load times.

    Congratulations on your new client.

    Good job.

CM Zebra is a a synth....go to Boarders or Barnes and Noble .... go to the magazine rack....look under either computers or music sections and then look for Computer Music Magazine......it is a british mag and usually they are a month behind.....expect to pay 16 to 17 bucks for it.....BUT!!!! it comes with a DVD filled with 7 to 8 gig of free software, samples, tutorials, and what they call the CM Studio....this studio has a LOT of different software to it and one of them is zebra by u=he.....it is a killer synth......install and away you go...but make sure that before you do an istall go to your programs file...go to sonar and look for your vst folder...I put a seperate sub-folder for out side VST's...then do your Zebra install to that folder...after it is finished open sonar and navagate to your plug in manager and do a rescan of your vst's ... the next time you open up sonar under the synth's availabel you'll see it and it is fun to play with.......If you need more instruction you know where to find me and I will help you all you want...

thanks guys.....I appreciate the kind works......it was a LOT of fun to put together.......for what ever reason I just had a blast putting it together.......I have'n t had this much fun in a long time.....but I am glad you liked it and it was my very first web piece....

First Cliff, make sure you charge that client enough to pay for all your gear! I think this is excellent for this type of gig. It does have that racing theme, movement, energy, attention grabber, all in one. Well done. "High quality, Low price" deep lyrics.. Great ending!

Only 16 or 17 bucks? That's pretty cheap for anything for this addiction so far. Oh, maybe a mic cord is less. lol. Now if only I didn't live an hour from any serious shopping centers. But I'll look around. Thanks for the tip! And believe it or not I know how to get to the VST folder, but if I need help, I'll holler.

    Hi

    Nice web piece.

The only thing I would say is that I can't really hear what the voice is saying, it's too far back in the mix. I can hear it, but I have to strain to hear the words.

That's fine for a song, but for an advert you really need the voice up front.

    Cheers

thanks for the comment....on my first mix the delay was way too much and it became garbled...so I turned it down to make it more understandable.....as far as bringing it up in vol. and or forward any more I am afraid of making it overpowering......I have listend to it on my cheap cheap PC speakers and on my mp3 player and in my truck (where everythings mess up) and do not have too much of a prob......now it maybe just because I did it and understand it but everyone else does not........I would not be opposed to turning the delay back alittle more and a touch more vox ... but I have to let my client make that call... after all it is for his site not mine......

but thanks for listening and thanks for the comments .......very much appreciateded.............

CONGRATULATIONS ON A PAYING CUSTOMER!! I've never made a dime...

It was a tiny bit hard to understand what you were saying due to the effects on the vocals, you may want to take a bit of echo off during the longer phrases. But hey, WAY TO GO ON THE PAID GIG!
