Music software/VST installation

Hello, I would appreciate if you could answer me one question.

I have 2 HDD's. One 320GB HDD for the OS, and another 1TB drive.

What's the best way to install the music software and the VST plugins on them? The music software and the VST dll's on the OS drive, while the VST sample libraries on the 1TB drive? Or is it safe to install the music software with the VST dll's and VST sample libraries all together on the 1TB drive?

Thank you.

all the dll's should go into the VST folder under program files under cakewalk, or under a subfolder of that folder OR whereever the program wants to install it default and then you have to change your folder list for scanning for VSTs in Sonar.  either way.

samples can go on the 1TB drive, but the dll's don't need to go there.  they don't take up that much space and will work fine in the VST folder.
