Put a smile on my face!  :-)  Wouldn't have a clue how to improve it, but I'll watch this space. :-)  Love that guitar playing!

    Imma grooving and moving!

First impression is that the mix dosen't do the vocals and harmonies justice. They seem a tad far and thin. Autotune is applied with restraint, which is not easy eh! The change of pace at the 3:00 mark is a nice touch. Adds tension, something is about to happen... but what??!! Really nice buildup. I would consider adding a bit more volume to the guitar FXs (after the 3:00 mark). The arrangement is noteworthy and original. Lot's of energy here. Great job Ron, a winner for sure!

    Regards,
    jc

Note: On my 3rd listen and the vocals don't seem so far and thin anymore...

Yeah, I really cranked on the autotune for a passage on the 2nd verse for effect...although compression is mucking up some of the vox that don't have it sound like they do!

The vox are hard on this tune. I want angry and up front, but it's too raw yet. I put the main vox (about 4 tracks) to it's own bus, and the bax (about 10 tracks) to another. They don't glue right, and is somehat due to trying different mic'ing on different takes. I took a break from mixing on this one to come back with fresh ears, but I think that multi-band compression is the route I have to go here.

Aerosmith wishes they were this hip! Nice cool stuff. Loved the plucked harmonics piece, that was awesome.
Mix is bit of a mess, but the energy of the song overwhelms that slight deficiency.

Is this a mix of country, bluegrass, rock, retro, and techno?  Wow, the new genre.

Er, is the guy singing or shouting at 1:07+ and 1:50? It's kinda of an odd delivery.

I like the abrupt change of pace at 3:00. But so much nothingness for one minute and 45 seconds while it wound down to end? I mean, you had little incidents interspersed, but nothing major happening. I was waiting for you to introduce new material after that abrupt change. But nothing, really. If I'd heard this on the radio, I wouldn't have waited it out to end one minute and 45 seconds later.

It must sound like I don't like this song. But I'm just bringing up things you may have not considered. I did like it. It's well done, and the voices are good. The instruments are interesting. It's fun and upbeat.

    Ron,

Very cool guitar riffing. Nice vocal. I like all of the passages. You have some very smooth transitions. The autotune works very well in this song also.

nice tune. maybe the vocs could use the smallest boost but don't go all angry - your voice is too sweet for that.

    Yeah, I admit it's a little out there...but that's how I roll!

The change of pace at the end, well...it's still missing some elements I'm working on.

The tune is a "situation", and third person; so not to be judgemental. It's about teen pregnancy, and the main "singer" is the angry father, yelling at his daughter when he finds out. To get the right feel for the part, I litrally put the mic 3' off the floor like someone cowering, then sang the main part hunched over like I was yelling at someone in a condecending manner. It may sound odd, but it actually got the sound I wanted!

Anyway, the slowdown part is after the birth...so it's supposed to be a change of pace. I am adding in a girl reading to her daughter a bedtime story. After a piano part sets the melody tone. Only problem I've had is finding the girl for the part...my wife WON'T do it...and I may get arrested if I start asking teenage girls "if they would let me record them"...

One of my friends daughter's may end up doing it...but that could be a few weeks off yet.

Well, I added acoustic guitar and piano during the end section...guitar effect is a little off of what I want, but not too bad...I got a much better clamp on the vox now, still need to fix a few harmony booboo's.

Just uploaded the last several days of tweaking's mix.

Okay, now the ending makes sense. And it's going to work great with that monologue.

You begin us with the phrase  groovin' and a movin' .  And then you go 58 seconds long with no singing. Can't you include more of this phrase in the intro as well?  I like how you sing it at 2:38.

The piano ending was a good addition. Sounds in keeping with this song, too, since we hear such a diversity of instruments  throughout. It doesn't sound like an afterthought, but more like, Wow, another treat for us! Only, that piano ends on the dominant note of the scale. Sounds kinda incomplete.

I'm still not hearing the voices clearly. It may be my blown, broken speakers.

The guitar solos in this song are masterful, the instruments entertaining, the voices upbeat.  This song is enjoyable.

P.S. Shouldn't you be more clear that you've updated your song in the title in the song forum? I've seen some guys put a date on their new version.

Yeah, I just updated the title

And yeah, that's a sour note I neglected to fix at the end on the piano. I like the drone of D with the A below it instead of the regular chord...I just hit it late!

I also appreciate the sugesstions, they help a lot. Thanks to everyone that contributed ideas. This thing is now up to 86 tracks, and a chore to mix!

Ok, I think the mix is pretty much there. I may just give up on the spoken word part in the outtro.
