Musical Font

I recently installed Music Creator on my new computer, and when I open the staff view, I get strange symbols instead of musical notation. (It didn't happen with my previous computer) Anyone know how to fix this?

First try rebooting your machine. Then launch MC and take another look at the Staff View. If it's still screwed up try a re-install.

The good news is that re-installing solved the problem. The bad news is it was only temporary. In other words, I have to re-install every time I open the program. Yikes! I hope there's a better solution.

If a simple reboot doesn't fix it permanently, then try doing this:

    1) Go to the Windows control panel, scroll down and select TTSNoteStandard (truetype) font, TTSNOTE.ttf. Right-click it and choose Delete.
    2) Re-install Music Creator.
    3) Reboot the machine. Installing fonts usually requires a reboot because of how/when they are loaded.

Okay, I think I've solved the problem. It seems to have been caused by spyware. (Don't ask me to explain how, computers are totally illogical to me.) I was having trouble running a complete Spybot check because I allegedly didn't have "administrative rights" to my own computer, even though I am unequivocally designated the adminsitrator. (Don't ask me to explain why. See above.) Once I found a way to sidestep that (by disabling User Account monitoring) I was able to run a complete botcheck, and the problems with Music Creator (I say problems in the plural because I discovered other things as well -- I couldn't copy and paste, for example) seem to have disappeared. (Don't ask me to explain anything.) Thanks for trying to help!

    ALFAVERO,

Have you tried any of the suggestions posted above?  Although the suggestions are for Music Creator, Home Studio is similar so the suggestions may prove useful.

Second, you may get more responses posting your question in a new thread in the Sonar section of the forum since many more people use Sonar than Music Creator.
