Mute layers on looped midi recording

  Hi If I'm looping while recording midi, can I set up only to hear the current input rather than all previous layers? Sometimes I want to take three takes of a keyboard part without restarting.

    Right click on the Record button (in the Control bar) and choose Overwrite (Replace) recording mode.

    Set the loop region and start recording. It should store takes into separate layers and mute previous takes.

    Be aware, after you stop recording, you have to mute layers you do not want to hear. And if you decide to add another takes, you have to mute the existing takes using Mute tool) to avoid overwriting them.

    Please try my suggestion first if it works. I am not at my DAW now.
