Muting cloned softsynth tracks - appear to be linked or grouped - in Sonar 8.5.3
* Update: I have been fooling with this a little bit more, and it is definitely a difference in the cloning process from 8.5.0 to 8.5.3 - at least, in my environment. Creating a new project and going through the same steps I did below, I get the same behavior. However, if I create a brand new softsynth track - not cloned - I can then copy the events from one of the existing tracks, cloned or not, and copy to the new track, and that works as I would expect - it can be muted individually, and deleted without affecting the other tracks. So, that's my workaround for the moment, but if anyone has seen this and can give some guidance, I'd prefer to actually use the clone functionality. Thanks again.

Thanks in advance for your time. I have been using Sonar since it was called Cakewalk, but I am not a "power" user - still a newbie in many areas. This is my first time posting to the forums, so apologies for any idiocy below...
All my recording to date has been live instrumentation. I finally broke down, however, and picked up an Oxygen49 and started fooling with softsynths. I was running a Presonus Firestudio to Win7/64 with Sonar Produce 8.5.0. All was going well, until my machine blue screened a couple of times while recording. With the new hardware, that was the likely issue - this is not something I have seen before - but I wanted to upgrade my software first, before declaring M-Audio the problem. I upgraded the drivers for the Firestudio, and upgraded Sonar to 8.5.3. All went well, and all seemed to be working well - no more BSOD, so far.
However, something is different now... In 8.5.0, I could clone a track and then modify it separately from the original. In 8.5.3, if I do certain things, all tracks appear to be affected. That is, if I select - within the track - mute, solo, record, archive, input echo, etc., all tracks that were cloned from the original are also selected. I cannot deselect them - trying to do so, deselects all. I have checked that the tracks are not linked or grouped - selected the tracks and right-clicked. The menu does not allow me to select Unlink.
Also, if I try to delete a cloned track, it deletes the original. I _can_ delete the track's contents without the original being affected, but I cannot delete the track, itself. I can also modify the contents of a cloned track, without it affecting the original, or other cloned tracks.
I looked around the forums, and this seemed to be the closest to the issue I am having:
http://forum.cakewalk.com...=1075740&high=mute I haven't been able to find a resolution online, though, so wanted to post here, and hope that someone might have seen this, and can tell me how to resolve it. I am fully aware that it may just be my own ignorance about a specific setting, so apologies in advance if that is the case.
Thanks, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
