My 1st multi trak drum set-up w/ session drummer 3, do have a qustion though.

so i loaded up session drummer with multiple outs so i can route each drum on its own track.
easy enough, got everything routed correctly and put all those onto its own drum bus.

dropped a midi pattern on the source track and all is good, all the assigned drums seem to be good.
each track is showing level for its selected drum when played, getting a good level on each drum but the source track seems to be
clipping, is this normal? even if i drag the fader all the way down where i dont hear anything, i still see the level indicator
pegging out with those 2 little red dots at the top.

on a side note: i notice when i dump a midi track in, i see the midi notes, but what are the vertical lines that are on the same track as the midi notes? i was thinking velocity info or something like that?

If you are looking at the MIDI track, the red light indicators are data indicators, not clipping indicators.  Clipping can only occur on an audio track.

Don't beat yourself up.  Sonar is a very complicated piece of software - there are a lot of nuances to it that even I don't fully grasp yet.  The more you use it and the more you read the forums, the more you'll understand.

ive always had some version of sonar old or new, just couldnt get myself into it &
kinda lost my passion for music for awhile . i had something that give me a drum beat & i could record the occasional Riff here and there. then id get bored cause I never took the time to learn it. but now i do.. i have a pretty good grasp of things for the most part just been outta touch with it for awhile. gotta get back on the groove again, and do something with the hundreds of Riffs i have stored away..
