My DAW is being revived!!!!
I was finally able to get into BIOS with a USB keyboard and now my mouse also works!!! I actually used a Crayola USB keyboard (a childrens designed keyboard without any functions keys) to get it working.......hey, it worked!!! I'm installing Vista at the moment and then the long process of all the other software. It felt like a limb was missing when my DAW was not working and I'm now very excited to get everything up & running. A special thanks to JB, Beagle, slartabartfast, and all the others that helped me out in sorting out the mess ZUNE had caused (I have a few choice words for that......). Ok....this fred is now open for hijacking, monkey talk, kitten talk, becan (Yammy) talk and all all that sort etc....

Daryl likes monkeys. Mesh, I'm glad you were finally able to sort that out. I hope the re-install goes smoothly.

Congratulations on your new appendage! Once you finish loading it up, reinstalling all the software, registering and authorizing licenses, patching, and updating, are you going to install the Zune software?

I saw the color of my music once, but I had to pour the rest of the draino into the bowl.

If I was a glutton for punishment, I'd most def. would do it........so yeah, I'll give it another shot........ .................. ...................... On the positive side, Zune didn't wipe out all the data from my phone (like it did to Danny's).

What is this Zune, and how do I best avoid it?

JB, First, install it. How can you identify the problem if you don't face it squarely? From there, you're on your own unless Mesh has anything to add.

That's the first HYBT I've given out. Bapu has a good point JB......I can help you out later with getting into BIOS from USB keyboard. The circular theory!

In order to move past failure and and prepare for success, one must be willing to face one's problems and admit one's failures. For example, consider how George Lucas moved past the Star Wars Christmas Special. Ok, that may not be a good example. Consider how Bill Gates dealt with Microsoft Bob. Ok. In order to move past failure and prepare for sucess, one must ignore the existence of any problems and deny one's failures. For this reason, I do not know myself at all.

Crg Vista, why? It was a gift (after I built my DAW in 2007 with XP Pro on it). I installed Vista (around 2010) on the same machine just to have another option in case something happened to XP. Around the same time I got into soft synths and midi and later on realized the limitations (4GB RAM) on a 32 bit system. Although Vista is known for having issues/bugs etc....it really has been a very good/stable system. My next machine I'm planning on building will be a 64 bit sys. with WIN 7 (or 8) and lots of RAM (16 or more GB).....when funds are available. On a different note....during my Vista reinstalling process, I noticed that my system only shows 2556MB of RAM in the Control Panel and I know I have 4GB's installed. Should I run a MEM Test or is there something better to check this out?
