My Daughter's Wedding

My oldest daughter is getting married at the end of the month. I had a tux but around here big band gigs are hard to come by so I haven't worn it in a while. I had to go buy a  cummerbund and tie that HAD to be candy apple red. I also needed to get 2 new dress shoes. One for each foot. I also have to mail it to her in advance so she can inspect it for approval.  Then it will be cleaned etc. I had no idea weddings cost this much. In my day here in the south we just went to the courthouse after her dad reloaded the shotgun. I have to fly to New Jersey for this wedding. After that I need to begin waiter training so this tux doesn't go to waste!

You might save bux if you can find a pair of two left shoes.

You only have to wear them for about two hours.

Go rent "Father of the Bride" and make sure the whole family watches it, maybe it'll garner a little sympathy for you. I watched that around the time I was marrying off my daughters. I was 2/3 of the way through that movie before I realized it was supposed to be a comedy, not a Frontline exposé.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Kind of the equivalent to buying "The Money Pit" before deciding to get that "fixer-upper" house!
