My First crash in Sonar X3b.

In a project I originally started in Sonar X2a, I inserted a Focusrite Plugin, either a Eq or Compressor. The project then crashed several times without a dmp file, just Sonar.exe caused crash.

When the project crashed it was on this one track, where PSP microwarmer and a Channel tools plugins present.
I added a Focusrite plugin to another track and Sonar X3b did not crash. I transfered the plugin to the PSP microwarmer Channel tools track, Sonar X3b did not crash

I then added a Focurite Eq plugin directly and Sonar X3b crashed. This time a crash dump was created.

I went back to Sonar X2a and loaded the project. I inserted the Focusrite plugins in the particular track with PSP microwamer and Channel Tools present. Both Focusrite plugins did not produce a crash in Sonar X2a.

The project size is 4.1Gb.
Have not tried adding Focurite plugins ot other projects yet.
When Sonar X3b Crashed the Focusrite plugin(Eq or Compressor) would have a blank graphic display.

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue on my end. Do you know of anything else that may be causing this behavior?

Its strange adding either of the Focusrite midnight suite plugins to track 15 causes a crash but adding them to another track does not produce a crash.

I have just tried adding the Focusrite midnight suite plugins to the track 15 again and it crashed. Is there any way PSP microwamer and Channel Tools could interfere with the Focusrite midnight suite plugins?.

I have another crash dump would it be helpful to send a new crash report (as I cannot now add anything further to the current report)?.

Just for giggles, I suggest using your restore feature in Windows and if you can, bring it back to the point before you installed the X3b patch. You can always reverse it later.
I did this to my computer, to bring it back to X3a and so far after a 1 1/2 days no more crashing!

What is the name of the exact PSP plugin you are using? I will see if I can reproduce on my end.

I also had my first X3b crash when opening an older file--an X1 file.  I saved a new version of the project in X3b, then a dropout and crash after a few seconds of play.  When I opened the newly-created X3 file version of the same, it played fine.  Not a deal-breaker.  I just have to convert the files (save as X3), then close and open again.

    Hi Dan,

I am submitting a new crash report as the cwp file I submitted (minus midi data) did not crash when I retried it.

    Midi data affecting plugins?.

So I have removed all midi data from tracks except for track 15. Sonar now crashes if Focusrite midnight compressor plugin is inserted straight away. But Sonar did not crash if the midnight plugin was inserted elsewhere before inserting in track 15.

    Something complex is happening.

Report number is CWBRN-20484 with dump and new cwp files.

    Regards
