Hi all. Check out my latest tune and let me know what ya think. (I think I need to work on the low end a bit more.) It's an odd EDM/Chill Mix I wrote, arranged, played, mixed, mastered, etc... I like how the electric guitar fits in the music, well done! The mix is very clean sounding and the song is pretty interesting.

A sound smorgasbord! High quality product you've done there. It was theme and variations? I kept trying to fit it into a traditional form, but each theme or variation was like it's own window and fragment. ( Like a kaleidescope rather than a telescope.) You did a great job of keeping the forward momentum. Best thing I've heard on this site in a long time.

Thanks for the comments Phillip and David. Yeah the stuff I write is always a little weird and a little big. I guess usually my tunes are "experiments" of sorts, often of new synth sounds, plugins, or a new guitar....and in this case all 3! LOL. I strive to make each sound sit in its own space, even though there may be 10 things going at any given moment. Again, thanks for the compliments. :-)

LOL Mesh.... I probably spend more time auditioning sounds than writing/recording the tunes!! It always takes me a lot of effort to find sounds which I believe weave together nicely and yet can individually be heard in my typical "wall of sound" mixes. I don't read music or play keys, so I have to compensate quality with quantity....LOL And I'll bet I have at least 200,000 sounds to go through every time!

I listened to the YouTube version on headphones.
Wonderful! I appreciate the listen, lots of instruments coming and going, and particularly the gear porn video! You have a great set up it looks like. How'd you get that green light on the keyboards, is that baked in to the keyboard itself?
Mix sounded really good, the bass seemed perfect in the cans.

Hey Tom, thanks for the kind words. The Komplete Kontrol keyboard from Native Instruments comes with the lights (of numerous colors) which serve a variety of purposes. Check 'em out! Yep, the gear is new and pretty cool, but I'll tell ya... getting the DESK it all sits on was one of the best purchases I've ever made for my home studio. It's a Sound Construction Supply desk...not cheap, but if a tornado ever hits my neighborhood, I'm going to chain myself to this desk! Super sturdy build! LOL

Hey guys, if you're looking for some new sounds, I could recommend the Spire Synthesizer plug-in by Reveal Sound. I used it for the 1st time on this tune, and I can say of the various analog synths I have, this one tops them all. The thing sounds like it's HD! If I remember correctly there are about 12 or 14 instances of it in this song.

Very cool... I really liked that. I think the tune qualifies as "never a dull moment" and then some. I liked how it was sorta all over the place yet everything gelled together well. And the mix suits it perfectly IMO, lots of space (pun intended) but never reverby.

Wow I really like this. Kind of Pink Floyd-ish for a while and there's that NASA guy in the background, then gets a bit funky and ethereal. Love all the different sounds you've put in there and the guitar is so good. Did I mention I really like this?
