Great job!  Very nice singing. I would back off the chorus or reverb on the vocal a bit so that it comes out clearer.  Great production and instrumentation.

    Alkie,
    Pretty good guitar patches!
I feel that the delay setting that you have on the vocal gives it a sort of
like being in a can type sound.
Maybe a little slower setting on the delay might sound better, or add just a bit of verb with it.
Don't know, it could help. The only times it sounds weird to me are when the vocals are all by themselves.
When all instruments are playing I don't notice it as much.
Your voice sounds fine by the way. Nothing bad there.

Interesting, the vocal does sound very thin and tinny when heard on its own, as suggested like in a can or metal box, it also sounds like its is a different space.  Quite a bit of general hiss.  Did I also detect a few artifacts from some vocal tuning.  ( from the Wookiee who does not sing).

Good start though listen-able tune a little tweaking here and there will sort it out.

    Alkie,

I always like your singing but you're getting the same problem I'm having on a couple of my songs, by the sounds of it. I bet when you converted wave to MP3 there seemed to be an odd accentuation in the high mids and highs. It ends up almost sounding like phase issues.... but not. Is this the case? I don't know how you manage to get such a nice strumming from midi, but you're the master so I guess it's easy for you. Did you clone a vocal track to thicken it at all?

I gotta be honest though, I don't think anything will beat your version of Carrie.

Thanks Vechung...There`s no Chorus or Reverb on the vox. I did a double take on the vox and started the second take in after the Instruments came in, also only used 6% Flange Modulation on them.

Thanks Thatsastrat, The thing is i was trying to get a tight in a can type of sound for the vox ...so i feel i have succeeded...I may have to bring the db`s down when there`s just vox after hearing this in my car. For the Guitars i use RealGuitar 2 and all electric are actually RealGuitar ran through Amplitube...So yes it`s actually all really acoustic LOL.

Thanks Wookiee, well no vocal tuning on this at all. I think the trouble is uploading to Soundclick ....The converters they use really suck $"!#!!!!!!!!

Hi Al, Yeah you are correct ...It`s the conversion upload to soundclick...gonna maybe switch to Soundcloud. I tracked the vox twice...and didn`t bother fixing things which gives it the feeling of Delays and Reverbs used but actually the only thing on the vox is 6% Flange Modulation. Thanks for the comment on Carrie ...forgot i had done that gonna go listen to it again.

I like this MidiMan.  I mean, Alan.  Great vocal.  It sounds to me like that's the way it was supposed to sound.   Remember, I am a gut and not a technical guy.  If I had to say anything, I would say bring it down a tad(make that a micro tad) and spread it a little more to the left and right.  Does that make sense?  Your midi stuff is crazy.  Did I say great vocal?

My friend Alan - the king of midi. You always amaze me - hard to believe this is all midi.

This is really a well-done tune - I really like this.

Well I agree with what some others found and it's a tin can sound over all, Sounds phazy. When the guitar came in aggressively I had to shut it down it was hurting my ears with harshness. It just might be sound click converters but you have to almost master songs with that step in mind, cause that's where our stuff ends up.

Another very convincing midi track Alan. You're a real master at this.

I'm not familiar with the track.

Only crit is the moder sounding mix, which my ears find a bit on the bright side. That's just a taste thing though and did'nt really spoil my enjoyment.

    Good one.
