Hi Gang... These are simply updates of my previous modified to read Sonar X1b... If you are asking how to change the background in Sonar you can do this with any bmp (bitmap) image file. Open Sonar and go to Edit, Preferences, then go to Colors and at the bottom you will see "wallpaper", select Custom and got to wherever you saved the file select it and thats it...done. Peace

The splash has the correct extension, so simply shorten the front to splash and you'll be fine It's either dib ro dlb but I can't read it.... it's another extension for bmp... Make sure to make a safety of your original first... I simply rename that one to Original X1 Splash.dib then rename the copy of the new one down to splash... Keni

I'll see about making one that's 640x480... that shouldn't be a problem... PM me with your email and I'll file attatch it to you...
I didn't include the build number becuase I believe build 242 IS X1b... 241 was not yet X1b and 243 is one we'll enver see as they have probably already passed that number internally working on the future fixes and releases... ;-)
I made some plain X1 screens, but I prefer to remember which I've update to for now... ;-)

To me, using the old 8.5 colors in an X1 wallpaper is sort of like marrying a girl but keeping the old girlfriend on the side. In the background, so to speak.
Why not offer the X1 wallpaper in the "official" new aqua and pale orange colors as an option, along with a font similar to the official X1 logo?

Why would I bother to change it to itself? If I liked the way it looked I wouldn't have bothered with my own... To use your analogy, if I've got a good looking girlfriend, why would I change to one that doesn't look as good?
When I have time and the inclination, I may create others, but they still won't look like the X1 splash or wallpaper... ;-)

But I like the lighter more cheerful colors. Puts me in mind of a spring day. Or light jazz music with a latin beat and a Hammond organ playing through the open windows on a mild and breezy Sunday morning.
I never got a box with those colors because Sweetwater didn't ship boxes. Something about the landfills getting to capacity or some such nonsense.
I guess I'll just have to stick with my plain background then. Or start looking at tropical island themes.

I understand you like the colors... and I'm sorry my choices aren't too your liking...
I created it with my own eye strain issues at the base... Staring at a bright screen is simply staring into a lightbulb for me... so I try to keep my screens dark.... Not so much because I like the look (tho I do), but because it's easier on my eyes over long periods of time...
I could get away with it for both of these issues (splash/wallpaper) as I don't have to look at it long or too often, but for me it's just easier to keep my screen tamed...
As to the size of the splash? In Photoshop, it's size is reported as 640x480... Maybe it changes it somehow when I export it? I didn't create the size. I used the original splash and simply painted on top of it so it should be the same size as the original...
