it's pretty cool :-) I will never be able to do a Halloween tune (I don't think?) But I don't really understand the creative process, I'm just there when it happens. The fiddles are reminiscent of "Devil went down to Georgia." But you're a better fiddle player than Mr. Dannials.

Very spooky, Scotty. The arrangement is ultra cool. I'd like to have this playing when the trick or treaters come to my door next week. But, fewer kids go out each year, so maybe only 10 or 12 would hear it. So, I'll listen again.

Lynn, Thank you very much! There's nothing wrong with playing it for 10 or 12 people either. Grant, Thank you kindly! Mark, How did you guess? Frank, Thank you, kind sir! It just came to me in a flash as I was playing with the sounds on the DR-880. James/Night Fox, Thanks for listening and I'm thrilled that you like it. This one is right in your wheel house.

Amazing how new gear inspires creativity.... definitely not something I would have guessed to be your tune.... I do believe I recall hearing this before.... However, with a short memory, the down side is I can't be 100% sure, the upside is... everything old is still somehow new.

fun mix, this is almost like a cross between dream theatre and prince! heheh cuz of the keys, i guess, and the funky drum track...reminds me of stuff like darling nicki but i love all the diminished inbetween notes, violin is perfect for stuff like this. it's funny how a simple drum machine groove can turn into the 'skeleton' for layering a bunch of cool stuff on top of.... you did a great job of layering here

Interesting rhythm( I know its a drum machine but I still liked it), liked the dualed guitar sound. The chord changes are also cool. Fits right in with the best of these kinds of songs but still retains an element of individuality.

The genre/style caught me off guard too, just as many other genre's I catch myself slipping into.

Never heard of darling nicki, but I sure am familiar with the other two you mentioned. The drum machine groove was not that of the machine, but of mine. I manually finger drummed this from start to finish, no loops involved.

Hey scott not bad, I like the violin sound. Everything is sounding good, the kick feels a lttle cardbord like though, maybe a bump down at 400hz would fix that. Cool though. Peace Ben

Fits right in with the best of these kinds of songs but still retains an element of individuality. Thanks Starise! As I mentioned in my reply to bat, this was done on the drum machine but I manually played it with my fingers from start to finish. Keeping the pattern going throughout was kinda tricky but I somehow managed. Glad you liked the guitars, chord changes, etc.

Thanks Janet! I've been extremely busy with life stuff and music projects so I haven't had time to visit the forum. It's nice to finally have some breathing room though and it's nice to be back. The new talent on here is mind-blowing! Of course, the regulars like you are too. Keep up the great work!
