My Solo Rock/Metal Project "Lone Soul"
Hey, guys! Check out the first song/music vid off my debut solo album, Love and Hate (available on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play [links in the YT video description]). The album was recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered entirely in SONAR (X3 Producer, in this case). Big thanks to everyone on this forum who has helped me in tuning up my skills along the way (though I still have plenty to learn), including but not limited to: Scott Garrigus, Anderton, bitflipper, BobF, Bristol_Jonesey, brundlefly, John, mudgel, Sanderxpander, and (of course) scook. (I even included a little shout-out to the forums in the CD liner notes ) Hope you enjoy and consider checking out the album! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YObrmtAOOko

Sounds AWESOME TO ME!!!! I'm shaking and breaking listening to this. THANK YOU! This taught me a lot about this type of music when it comes to playing guitar, the drums & bass seem to carry the song and you don't have to play 100 million miles a minute on the guitar for it to sound great! Video is cool also! Enjoyed this very much!

Song sounds great. My only critical observation might be about showing the computer drum interface on the video - great for a Sonar advertisement but I'm not so sure about metal street cred, personally I would de-emphasize the fact they aren't real drums. They sound great, don't get me wrong!

One of the better metal tunes I have heard here, also goes to show what can be achieved with Session Drummer.
Mix comes across here solid, thanks for sharing.

Sounds freakin' great! I really enjoyed that. Getting a bit of a Korn vibe that works nicely... Oh, and I loved the "circle of guitars" in the video - nice way to visually show how many layers there are, while still sounding well balanced and clear.

Thanks so much for all the kind words, guys! Means a lot coming from you, my peers/superiors Along with folks here, I have the generous wealth of blogs and videos from Graham Cochrane of The Recording Revolution to thank for a lot of the quality of my mix. Dude totally schooled my brain on the whole subject. If you'd like to hear a couple more songs, they can be found at the following links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wJz-YF5_JQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Idx_GIwY3bQ And (trying not to be too advertisy) if you're interested in the album, it can be found on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon ( CD / digital), and Google Play. I'd also love your guys' support on social media https://www.facebook.com/LoneSoulOfficialhttps://www.twitter.com/LoneSoulArtist synkrotron Hiya Kyle. Great video and an excellent song... Right up my street . Sounds really good. Tell me, did you DI the guitars? cheers andy
Thanks, Andy! Guitars straight into the interface to TH2 (or Guitar Rig 4, in the case of the bass). stevesweat Song sounds great. Hi, Steve. Well I already knew I wasn't going to get the cred you're referring to by not physically playing the drums myself (Do I look like Gene Hoglan to you?? ). And I didn't want to make it seem like I was, or worse, hide that I wasn't. So I decided to be candid and honest, and openly show the process (also to show how--while not the same as physically playing the beats--painstaking and involved the process is). ABull Sounds cookin' -- really good mix and the crunch on the guitars is sweet... Allan =-=-=
Thanks, Allan! Spent a good amount of time fiddling with TH2 for the guitar tones

Sounded good and I imagine a lot of fun putting together. Great presentation up front. Very creative arrangement and delivery. I liked how the video broke down the 3 part guitar lead. The vocals are way crazy (i.e. crazy in a good sense). Pushing myself to be critical here,... maybe?.... Ah?..... Never mind.

Thanks, guys! Here's a new lyric video for another song off the album (Music taste forewarning: This is a heavier one)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grmDtxV-nUY @FreeEarCandy - Yes fun, in a very... VERY tedious way. And you can be critical any day of the week

Yeah, that is very solid. Powerful. Not the genre I listen to much but reminds me of Breaking Benjamin. Nice job and good luck with the album!
