My Take Lane/ undo ctrl-z gripe

I think I posed about this when it first happened months ago but I can't find the post. Bob Bone asked me to detail the issue on another thread. I created a new one so I will not clutter up an already cluttered X2b thread.

This problem showed up with the release of X2a. When cake relied without investigation that I needed to retest because they just issued the x2a patch. I did but the problem reporter is broken and will not allow me to add notes to an existing ticket. Being mad at the time as well as busy I did not update them.

Having a little more patience now so I created a new trouble ticket referencing the old one with the results of my retesting.

Description:
  1. Create a new project
  2. Add a synth using the track folder option and seperate midi and synth tracks
  3. Enable record on the midi track and record a few bars.
  4. open the take lanes dropdown and mute the recorded take.
  5. record a few bars again. This time the previous take will be muted.
  6. undo the last recording
  7. record another take. this time the previous take lanes midi data will play
Expected Results: the previous takes should be muted and only the newly recorded midi data should be heard in playback. Actual Results: Midi data from the previous take is not muted even though the take lane mute button shows it muted. Toggling the mute of the existing take lane will must it again for one more take but it will begin to playback the muted take lanes midi data after the recording is done.

I will add that since I changed computers the undo still unmutes the first lane but the graphics correctly show that it is not muted. So the graphic portion of this was probably my old system not X2a

    Yeah...

I've run into this a few times as well... but while I'm dealing with Lanes I'm usually so frustrated that it's hard to remember everything that's bothering me! ;-)

BTW - This ranks with the frustration I'm having (only me?) with cloned tracks and the Post status for PC) and the intermittent unable to copy clip from one location to another (lane2lane etc.)

Oh, and have I ranted about Lanes and Zooming lately? ;-)

    (Sorry, I couldn't resist) ;-)

Very well thought out report tom.

I would try and follow up on this, if you cant figure a way to add to the old one create a new one with a note about the old report you already sent in.
