My Windows 7 Professional Upgrade shipped today
From Newegg.com. Last night I was informed my credit card was charged. Today I'm informed that it was shipped. $99 + tax (I live in Kalifornia).

Good luck with it! I've had nothing but good experiences so far with it - I've not yet plucked up the courage to install it on my DAW but it has been happily running on my HTPC for some time now without many hiccups

Mod Bod My Win 7 machine was built yesterday. All I have to do is pick it up today. I'm jealous! I've been thinking about building myself a new i7 machine and running Win7 64 on it. There's too much I need (not want!) at the moment its not funny

And UPS says it's out for delivery today. BTW, I will be ordering an I7 machine in Feb or March of of 2010, after the pioneers work out all the kinks (and maybe Toontrack and UAD will be native 64-bit by then too: one can dream).

I bought the download versions and got my notice that they're now available a few hours ago. Anybody tried downloading it yet? If so, how long is it taking? I may just wait until the weekend and avoid the release day server slam.

after a PITA xp > vista upgrade I will NEVER buy a "upgrade" version of windows again that comes with a machine , so they get rid of old stock. they made a total "mess up" of even shipping it and when it did come, it was missing a vital element that was on the full version.. hhmm.. wait a while and see what happens with re-service packs etc.., same with i7.. the price drops..

Misty, I hear you. In fact I'm not even sure when I'll install this copy. My 32-bit XP Pro DAW is working out, my 64-bit Ubuntu server is doing it's job well and my XP Pro 32-bit laptop is humming along. I have one more box to build out, so this will probably go in there and be my "main workstation". My next DAW, I7/W7, will be either ADK or Studiocat in Feb/March.

Hi, I will probably update my 3 XP-Pro machines on my network ... I may buy it now for the price break and not install it until the first Service Pack comes out. I trust the Pro version better than the Home version anytime, but based on my technical support through 3X, 98, 2000 and then XP ... one would think that Microsoft would get one of these right the first time ... but maybe I am just being cautious and thrifty with my money ... I want to clean out that last one credit card so I can pull out that umbilical cord!

Yeah, it arrived yesterday. Pretty box. Probably not going to install it for a while though. I've also decided that it will not be my DAW. My next DAW move will be to order (from Jim or Scott) an I7/W7 64-bit based 12gb DAW to replace my XP Pro 32-bit. Probably in Feb or March. So this purchase was a bit premature. Probably do my build of this OS in late November early December.

I must admit I'm tempted, but I'm still able to process over 60 tracks on my home(AMD dual 3.0) system with all the fx needed. And Scott's laptop(for recording) is still great, so I guess I'll wait for W8 :-)

I may try and hunt down a good deal and when I've got all the drivers I need put it on then...Vista never got past a test partition using the Dell home edition that came with the PC it never worked with my DSL modem. I just ear-ached my ISP into sending me a free router, I've been with them for 4.5 years and they keep giving new customers incentives so I said if they didn't upgrade my connection I will be taking up another ISP's incentives so it maybe time to upgrade the OS.

bapu Probably not going to install it for a while though. I'd wait too if I had not already installed Win 7 Pro and had too many issues to list. Good thing I built as a dual boot I wanted to give the whole 64 bit Sonar thing a go but had issues with Dim Pro, Rapture, Pisces, Alphatrack, EZDrummer and more. Installed the 32 bit Sonar and have issues with a few other things that you would not think would present a problem. I've been watching Eratu's attempt in the Sonar PE forum and seems he's having similar issues. I thought the biggest issue would be the M-Audio beta driver, but this works reasonably well.
