My attempt at the surf song genre.

I wrote this and played guitar and did the main drums. My buddy Andy McClelland played bass, keys and bongos on this.

Beatnik surf music... I like it. But where's the reverb? I saw Dick Dale in concert and he had the coolest reverb, and lots of it. Best concert ever.

Sounds live and improvised. Glad to hear something like this when evrything otherwise is so polished by midi and corrected in the computer. It's like liberating the soul of music in a way. Got some vibes of Canned Heat (haven't listened to them in a long time ). This made me happy! Thanks for sharing.

So cool!  :)  Great job!  My only nit, which is fairly picky, but I heard the piano playing alto in the beginning a little louder than the guitar playing the melody.  Anyway, great playing.  Love the percussion too.  So fun!  :)

Hi Mark, even surfers get the blues, in a cool way naturally.

Hey Mark.  You know my penchant for Cool Blues and Cool Jazz --- you have now created a new genre, Cool Surf and I'm loving it.  Great playing as always and Mr. McClelland is doing a terrific job himself.  Is that a real stand-up, slap-belly, double bass?
Terrific and more importantly very cool number.

    Hi Mark,
Cool song! Kind of reminds me of some seasoned veterans having a Friday night jam session!
Had a nice live feel to it. I like it!

    Hi Mark,

Great tone and playing, man. Love the live vibe and the nod to "Wipeout".

    Very cool.

Where are The Beach Boys when you need them?  Oh thats right they are all dead, a dribbling mess or bitter and pretending to be The Beach Boys.

I can hear Lucile in the main riff but I like it.  It does need some reverb perhaps you could try a chamber impulse from Perfect Space.  The mix and the master, I can't fault them, well done.

The only thing is I can hear pops and clicks I don't know if anyone else can hear this, it could be the gurio though, if is that then you could try putting a backwards verb on it, this will make it sound less thin and really give it a place above the mix.

    Cool ending Peace

    I'm having a spaz attack!!!

Love this the tune and the vibey treatment.

If anyone asked me... I say it has just the right amount of reverb.

Well, waddya know?  Back in time.  Very cool.  I like the bass on this.  Guitar's not too good.  JUST KIDDING, PARTNER.  This is well played and a lot of fun.  i feel like doing "The Swim" to this.  Suppose you could even "Twist" to it!  :-)

well... I enjoyed it... my only nit was the guitar tone sounded to good for surf....

I was expecting to hear a thinner tone... the lead had a grit to it that I've never heard in surf... but then again my main point of reference is the memory of the tunes from the 60's.  The hazy past, as they say.

Fun stuff, Mark.  Johnny Abbott would be proud.  Great tone on the guitar and it must have been hard for a guy with your skills to keep it simple and authentic sounding.  Nice work on the keys and bass too.

Slick my friend!  Jamming blues, electronica-feel.  As feared, these are your astonishing guitar (and now bongo) performances that I've always envied.

Relaxing and lovely ear candy also ... takes me to Ocean City, NJ boardwalk.

I suppose this awaits some volume maximization for some routy road listening as I had to slam up the volume a couple times to enjoy more of those instrument clacks that my ears crave.
