My breakdown and renaissance.

So for about 3 days I'd click on the icon and the welcome banner would pop up and it would hang.  I'd have to close it with ctrl alt del.  So I read somewhere to open sonar in safe mode by holding shift down.  I did that.  It did nothing....for another day.  Then today I did it and sonar opened albeit slowly and rockily and it told me that my *irig35* didn't have enough memory to open.  I said *ok*.  It got to the start screen, but it wouldn't open any of my old projects.  I closed it and closed sonar.  
 
The next day and from that point on I can open it regularly (without safe mode) and everything seems to work fine.
 
I'm confident that all this has nothing to do with sonar itself and probably has to do with things beyond that were lurking somewhere in the nether regions of my machines. But if anyone ever gets Sonar hanging at the beginning first thing to try is holding shift down while clicking the exe file.
