My first experience with midi.. What a blast!

Hello everybody..
I've been recording audio for quite a few years now and I now decided that I need to familiarize myself with midi and synths etc..
So, I purchased a midi keyboard and started recording and this is what I came up with.  I really need you guys to lead me on this.
Go ahead and let me know how it sounds before I do anything else with it.  It's called "Rats in the Attic."  Also, the piano roll really rocks and if anyone hasn't learned it yet, what are you waiting for?
Thanks!!!

Thanks Daryl, I really needed the guitar to drive the whole thing otherwise it's just another synth song.  Does that make sense?

Clearly you've been recording for a while ;)

    Great groove, awesome guitar work...

Bass could use some more bottom, but overall this mix works.

Thanks everybody..  This is the first time I used a synth bass, i usually play direct audio and I was afraid to eq the synth too much but I may revisit that.  I was really pleased with the guitar sound.  I've been struggling with that for years.  I'm using a Fender Telecaster through a Peavey 4-10 Classic, mic'd w/SM57 only and turned way up to get the real grit.  I also used some Boss pedals and particularly an octave box for the main leads.  Thanks again everybody!

Cool tune!    For a first foray into MIDI-land I'd say you did quite alright.

The synths fit well IMO and add a different feel that wouldn't have existed otherwise.   The guitars, yeah, they rock.   I do agree with Dan that the bass could have more weight, but otherwise I thought it sounded good!

That was very nice  The tune also had a fresh sound too it .
Your Tele sounds good , it has the Modern Classic Country / Classic Rock type of sound that appears to Dominate Todays Country Charts …
With the synth sounds you used it sounds as if you have your own thing musically going on .
It sounds too me as if you are ahead of the loop .
I wouldn't be too surprised if those types of synth sounds started making the rounds in the type of music you were playing once some of the other people out there catch up to how hip synth sounds can be .
(guitar synth player since 1983 )

    all the best,
