My first midi controller

Hey everyone! I just bought my first midi controller which is the Axiom air mini 32. Ive played around with it and it seems like what i need. Thing is- I just started making beats and I need all the useful advice I can get! Oh yeah- I using sonar x1 studio as my daw. Plz help
