Firstly welcome to the Songs forum you will find a bunch of friendly and very helpful peeps here.

It sounds quite well here, though, and I am not saying this in a negative sense, they are to my ears layered synth patches.  Which is something I use frequently.

I would be interested to know what synths you used to make this, did you record as one track or as multiple tracks?  What Event monitors are you using I have 20/20 passives.

Thanks for sharing, I look forward to the development of this track and future tracks.

This is nice - very creative and well recorded. I think you're starting out pretty good. My only comment with the mix would be that it feels a bit - "in my face". There are certain patches that you are using that need to be back in the mix a bit. I'm not sure if they need my verb or what - something.

This is really very cool - enjoyed very much.

The synths used were dune BE think its the last factory patch, synth1 the factory first patch and cakes studio instruments strings. I layered them all and copied the midi to each of the 2 additional tracks. 5 or 6 inch events they are active. Can't see the back of the monitor so not sure on the model. I love the sound and I have a pair of audio technica athm20's for headphones.

I actually like the in your face element of the sound I was so happy with the overall sound when I first created it and that can be what drives you to a better performance. I will try it out at a lower mix and play around with other FX to see what I can do there.

There are still things I dislike in the midi as I perceive timing errors I would like to fix. I felt that leaving the errors in and then going back later and fixing them would be a learning experience and so I just left it for now maybe this week or next I will crack the books and learn the editing process next.  I also need to learn how to do a fade at the end.

I really consider myself more of a guitarist than keyboardist but all these cool sounds are more fun to play than the same old guitar tones I've played for decades. Thank you all for your kind comments and I hope to be uploading many more tunes in the future.

"its difficult to find the time to record"- You're not alone here in this. I think this is the story of my life...never enough of this thing we call time.

Anyways....nice patch job, ok that didn't come out right...nice job on those patches. It sounds to me as if you are shooting for a tense kind of feeling in the music, I hear a lot of dissonant sounding things going on. Maybe a better description would be that things seem to be clashing here and there intentionally. You can do a lot with a heavily loaded synth patch  by using automation in the mix on the synth parameters. I noticed that the patches pretty much stay the same throughout...just food for thought, but maybe it's junk food.Just a suggestion. You can automate panning VFOs,LFOs you name it. Automation is something I have told myself I would like to get more involved in as well. The only problem is that it takes even more  time.

There are multiple scales being used in this piece one of which is a combination of 2 blues scales so that even more chromatic runs exist  and another I just made up that sounds japanese and lastly some harmonic minor based material as well. Then there are some highly dissonant chords in there that almost sound like they are quartal if I am spelling that word correctly. I constructed them from the notes of the 2 scales I merged so more dissonant chords were possible from the diatonic notes of those 2 scales. The scales all share a common tonal center as well.

This is definitely going to be an intro to a bigger piece of music and because I started with so many scalar concepts I can take this piece into multiple directions. I'm starting to hear more classical guitar and electric guitar parts over this so time to polish the chops and get something down.

I want to maybe add in some tubular bells at the end of this section and some solo cello before going into a classical guitar motif with some tremolo picking and a different string sound that is more laid back in the back ground.
