is anyone else disturbed by the fact there's no mention of SD2 in the online manual ?

Since it is not part of SONAR but a bundled soft synth, it does not bother me. The help is associated with the synth GUI like most of the other CW synths.

Either click on the SD2 GUI and press F1 or go to Program Files/Cakewalk/VSTPlugins/Session Drummer 2/Documentation*. HTH.

*might be a slightly different path after 6.2.1.

Please forgive the delay - I have uploaded the two .sfz ZIP files for NaturalStudio 7.0 and for the original DFH. All links should work now.

By the way, I am still looking for other free resources to add to this page, partcularly quality drum samples that can be put into sfz format.

Thanx Phil,

I'll check it out and see what I can make of Session Drummer 2 (I currently own BFD and want to add some other flavours to my arsenal)...

Cheers,
Dennis P

Wow! I am glad to see that this thread keeps getting found - I thought it had run its course some time ago.

I had deleted some of the ZIP files to conserve space, but if there is a demand for them I will put them back up.

Also, I am looking for more GREAT SOUNDING kits/samples to use with SD2 - so if anyone has any tips, leave them here as well.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to upload the files until the end of today.

Stay tuned,

Hey Phil.

The NS_kit7 full are great sounding 24/48 samples and considering what you get, it's a steal! I've ported three kits over to VSampler and am working on others. All the wavs are included, so porting to SD2 should be doable.

Is there any issue/problem with the WAVs rendering from 48 kHz to 44.1 kHz for recording Sonar?

I typically run Sonar at 24/41 so when I loaded the NS_kit it took a long time. I'm assuming that the samples were being resampled to 24/41 so I manually converted all the NS_Kit7 samples I use. I've since had no problems. BTW I used r8brain from Voxengo. Works great.

Phil,

That's a nice piece of work. Many thanks.

With all due humility I have made the following amendments to your 1ns_HH.sfz -

<group> loop_mode=one_shot key=42 group=1 off_by=2 off_by=3
...
<group> loop_mode=one_shot key=44 group=2 off_by=1 off_by=3
...
<group> loop_mode=one_shot key=46 group=3 off_by=1 off_by=2

I am no expert in SFZ op codes and programming, but I wanted the closed or pedalled hh to quench the open one, and this seems to do it. FAIK, there may be much more elegant way of doing that.

Edit - corrected typos in op codes
