My new 64bit build
I was going to go with a DAW builder but once again cost played a factor. Here is what I ordered. I already own an Antec P182 silent case to put all this in (it has a DVD drive already): 1 x MB GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 Z68 2 x MEM 4Gx2 MUSHKIN 996999 RAM 1 x VGA ASUS EN210 SILENT/DI/1GD3/V2 1 x CPU INTEL CORE I7 2600K 3.4G 8M CACHE 1 x CPU COOL NOCTUA NH-C12P SE14 1 x PSU ANTEC TP-750 BLUE 750W 2 x HD 1T ST SATA6.0 32M ST31000524AS 1 x HD 500G ST SATA3 16M ST3500413AS Parts are shipping UPS today and typically from Newegg I get next day arrival. This should mean I can start the build on my four day weekend.

I heard Spacey is building one out of wood. I don't know the specs, but it will be a work of art.

It looks like a very promising build. It should improve your post count when it's done. I have two of the P182's. I don't think I'd use anything else--unless it was one of those ultra-expensive heat-sink cases. I'd have to win the Lotto before I could afford one of those. Good luck on your build. I'm hoping to build something similar in the near future.

coolness! I bit the bullet a few weeks ago because my Q6600 was starting to fail. I absolutely LOVE win7! it boots up SO fast in comparison to winxp!!!! I skipped vista, but I've used it at work on laptops sometimes. man that was the slowest booting OS I have ever seen!!!

OK, I'll admit it: I'm jealous. Thinks to himself: That's too much PC for one man and his diabolical plans! How can I compete? I know I'll do a 65bit build. No 66bit. No 66.6 bit! Ha, ha, ha, ha. Out loud: Congratulations Bapu, but bit count matters not!
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Beagle I bit the bullet a few weeks ago because my Q6600 was starting to fail. My Q6600 is still working quite well, I'm mainly hoping for lower latency from the new CPU & Memory and of course the 16Gig of memory can't hurt under 64-bit. I plan on installing both 64bit and 32bit X1 in case I run into any problems with the few 32bit only plugs that I have (Addictive, Jamstix maybe a couple more).

I did the same thing, but mainly for Guitar Rig 3 which does not run on 64bit host even under bitbridge. but I can still run my projects I started in S8.5/SX1 32bit with GR3 using the SX1 32bit version.

bapu Jonbouy Prices do seem to be coming down. Here's a similar but slightly lesser spec box off the peg. http://www.easypc-uk.com/...-500gb-9500gt-1gb.html That looks to be a darn good price there JB. It's cheaper than I can source the parts for just now. It has a low rated psu and a budget (16gb limit) P67 board though. I can come in at around £450 by dropping the Blu-ray and SSD which I can live without, I'm saving my pennies already.
